i am curious as to whether the final gut deciding factor to leave was inappropriate doctrine or the overly intrusive control of the wt.
reading the bible normally opened my eyes.
i was born-in and never suspected that they were skewing the bible in such a ridiculous manner or misquoting secular sources.
Looking back, it was a combination. I NEVER believed some of the tripe in the Revelation book, even when I was a card carrying dub.
I also knew there was something amiss with the control, to the point that as a child I wondered if 'the truth' was an experiment to see how much bullshit a person would accept.
in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.
once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.
nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.

the reason i am asking is that lately i've noticed a trend.
we get a real good down to earth guy who is easy to work with and we get used to his way.
of doing things and then 3 years later we get a self righteous abusive a$$hole that thinks he is above all.
